Contemporary abstractions that combine grids from orange construction fences and rich textured mixed media surfaces.
Water Covers and the Sealed Crack Lines Around Them #1 is one in a series of two incorporating photos of water covers on the street in my neighborhood and the sealed crack lines around them.
Similar to gas covers, water covers are very small compared to sewer covers, the inspiration behind of a number of other paintings. The sealing of cracks around them dwarves their presence and one barely notices them.
The paintings include acrylic skins of the photographs collaged on monoprinted construction fence fabric, and painting, on 6” x 6" board.
