Two Kidneys Minus One
Two Kidneys Minus One incorporates four acrylic skins of a photo of my CT scan taken well ahead of donating a kidney in December 2019. In this painting, the photos are collaged on stiffened monoprinted fabric. The first photo is of the actual scan. In the next photo, my left kidney is circled and marked with stitching as the one to be removed. In the third photo, it’s X’d out, and in the fourth, I darned over it to in a sense “remove” it.
