Contemporary abstractions that combine grids from orange construction fences and rich textured mixed media surfaces.
While recovering from my kidney donation surgery, we went to CVS to get a few things I needed. We couldn’t help but marvel and joke about their uncommonly long receipts. Always trying to find humor in life when possible, I decided to make a painting by elongating my 3” scar to the length of a receipt, which is often many feet long. This painting is created with acrylic skins of enlarged photoshopped photos of my scar, and hand and machine stitched thread, on stiffened monoprinted fabric.
